BabyDoll’s Platinum Club In Phoenix, AZ

I did something I usually never do – and I had a party at a strip club.

This will be basically the shortest review I’ve written so far, because even though I have good things to say … I don’t remember much of the night.

Located on the NW corner of Grand Ave and 35th Avenue, the building that houses Babydoll’s has been around for over 25 years.

I’ll say right now, Babydoll’s isn’t for everyone. If you’re used to the normal cabaret experience with dancers prancing around acting like they don’t give a shit about you – you’re in for a shock. Most of these girls are real and act real. They don’t put on the stripper uniform and pretend you don’t matter. They’re normal looking obtainable girls, and they (for the most part) don’t treat you like something that is just used to transport your wallet around.

The clientele is … well, colorful to say the least. Don’t be concerned by the mandatory pat downs or huge signs out front that inform you that weapons are not allowed on the property – this is very typical of the area and is not a direct reflection on the club itself.

Drinks are very reasonably priced and they have $3 You-Call-It’s until Midnight, DAILY. The bartenders pour you a solid drink, and even though the glasses are small, you still get the same amount of alcohol as you would if you were paying full price. No skimping there. They have a handful of beer on tap – couldn’t tell you what it was but I also wasn’t drinking beer (nor was I sober).

The time after the night I went the ATM was out of money, but there IS a gas station next door that has an ATM with a considerably lower fee, so don’t be upset if the ATM is out. I brought cash with me so I didn’t check then, but it was a Thursday night so I’m sure it had cash in it. This is actually a very typical problem for strip clubs that fill their own ATMs. Sometimes they run out over the course of a few days without being checked, sometimes they will run out a few hours after they’re filled. Not a big deal.

The talent is what you’d expect in that part of town. Mixed group of girls, a little bit of something for everyone. The one thing I can say for certain is the girls at Babydoll’s love to drink. They are allowed to drink on shift but are required to dress in their street clothes and drink at a separate bar built only for dancers, so know in advance unless you buy a girl off the floor into a private show – she’s going to disappear for a few minutes while she drinks her adult beverage. As a whole the talent isn’t awful looking, but don’t expect Vegas quality show girls to be everywhere. They do have a couple of 10’s, but usually on the weekend nights.

Music… well the music is also what you’d expect from that part of town. Mostly hip-hop / rap (gangster rap) with some metal thrown into the mix. Day shift I would assume is mostly rock, but similar to most clubs, the regular club music (being hip-hop genre) overtakes the soundwaves and you are stuck listening to that. My solution to that problem? 4-5 drinks and you shouldn’t care. I personally like the music so it doesn’t bother me.

I’ll be back again, and hopefully next time I’ll be able to update this a little more. Frankly last time I was having a party there to celebrate it being a Thursday, so I was a little more hammered than I usually am when I check clubs out to be reviewed.

If you happen to go in and don’t see me there (I’ll be the drunk guy yelling at the bartenders and giving the doormen shit)… tell them Scottsdale sent you. At least a few of them will know who you’re talking about.
